Rama Navami is celebrated by Hindus all over the world remarking the birth of Lord Rama. The festival is a part of the spring Navaratri and falls on the ninth day of the Chaitra month. In South India, Panakam, Neer Mor, Vadapappu, Kosambari is prepared and offered to Lord Rama. Yet in North India, Black Chana / Kale Sundal and Sooji Halwa are made, to break the spring Navaratri fast on the day of Ram Navami.
This year Sri Rama Navami is celebrated on 2nd April, Thursday.
