Krishna Janmashtami is also called by other names like Gokulashtami or simply as Janmashtami which marks the birth of Lord Krishna, the eight avatars of God Vishnu. It is celebrated by Hindus all over India and abroad too. In Tamilnadu, people draw little feet of Lord Krishna and other kolams using rice batter. They observe fast, dress small kids like Lord Krishna and make a lot of prasadams.
