How To Make Fruit Chaat / Fruit Chaat Recipe with step by step pics, it is a refreshing and tongue smacking combo of fruits and chaat masala flavour. Even kids who make a fuss to eat fruits will have it without any complaints. I have used 5 types of fruits which I had in hand but you can add as per your choice or use seasonal fruits too. This is a perfect Navratri fast recipe or an ideal evening snack or can be had at the end of a heavy biryani meal also. It is a savoury version which is completely different from the Fruit Salad Recipe (sweet version) and it is a very famous street food in North India.

  • To a mixing bowl, add all the chopped fruits.
  • Sprinkle jeera powder, chaat masala, pepper powder and black salt. Then add the lemon juice to avoid the decolouration of the fruits.
  • Finally, add the mint leaves and give a quick mix. Serve it immediately, else the salt starts leaving the water and the fruits become soggy.

Notes

Tips for How to make Fruit Chaat

  1. Choose fruits of your choice or seasonal. You can also use papaya, watermelon, mango, strawberry, orange, pineapple, kiwi etc.
  2. If using sweet potato, pressure cook for 2 whistles separately, chop it and then use.
  3. Even regular potato can be used. If using, dice it, then deep fry and add it.
  4. Don't skip jeera powder, as it helps in digestion and adds a nice flavour.
  5. Chaat masala lends an extra zing to the Fruit Chaat Recipe.
  6. Also mint leaves makes the fruit chaat tastes more refreshing.
  7. Add the salt just before serving, else the salt starts leaving the water and the fruits turn soggy.
  8. Addition of lemon juice prevents the fruits turning brown. But don't add more than mentioned, else the chaat tastes too sour.
