Dry Fruit Ladoo Recipe / Dry Fruit Laddu with step by step pics and a short YouTube video. If you like my video, please share it and don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE to my channel. It is a super healthy, protein-packed and nutrients rich ladoo, ideal for gift packing and kids snack box. There is no perfect measurement to prepare this ladoo, you can alter the ingredients as per your wish, but I suggest using dates more than nuts, as it helps in binding. If you don’t want to use the stove, just pulse the dates, nuts once and bind the ladoo with little hot ghee, but the shelf life reduces a little. It is an absolute sugar and jaggery free, diabetic friendly, energy ladoo, as dates are the only natural sweetener. If interested, check my 100+ Navratri Recipes and collection of Sundal Recipes.

Instructions

  • First, measure and keep all the ingredients ready. In a pan, dry roast cashews, almonds and pistachios, for 5 to 6 minutes in low flame.
  • The nuts should change in colour a little and a bit crunchy, ensure not to burn the nuts. Once it cools down, transfer the nuts and cardamom pods to a mixer.
  • Just pulse it once, there should be bite-sized nuts leftover, don't grind it to a smooth powder. Keep the ground nuts aside. Furthermore, add the dates and figs to the mixer jar.
  • Grind it to a semi-smooth paste. Add the ground dates and figs to a pan.
  • Now add the ground nuts, raisins and desiccated coconut.

Notes

Tips for Making Dry Fruit Laddu

  1. Actually, there is no specific measurement for this Dry Fruit Ladoo Recipe. You can alter the ingredients as per your wish and availability. But ensure the dates and fig quantity is more, as it helps in binding the ladoo.
  2. If using, regular dates remove the seeds and then grind it. I used seedless dates, so used directly.
  3. Don't skip figs as it adds more taste to the ladoo. Even 2 tbsp of apricots, walnuts can be used.
  4. Nuts can be used directly without roasting too. But roasting the nuts increases the shelf life and easy chopping of the nuts.
  5. Instead of roasting the nuts on the stovetop, it can be microwaved for 1 minute on high.
  6. Just pulse the nuts once, there should be bite-sized pieces leftover for crunchiness. Too much grinding makes the nuts into a paste.
  7. Always make the ladoo when the mixture is warm itself. If it cools down, ladoo cannot be shaped.
  8. If the ladoo mixture cannot be shaped, reheat for a few minutes on a Tawa Or else microwave it for 1 minute, the mixture loosens and you can shape the ladoo.
  9. The ladoo can be kept plain or can be rolled in desiccated coconut or sesame seeds or poppy seeds also.
  10. This Dry Fruit Laddu stays good for 4 to 5 days when kept in room temperature.
