Sundals are nothing but dry legumes tempered with red chilli, curry leaves and mixed with freshly grated coconut. The soaking and pressure cooking time is the only time - consuming part, but the cooking can be done within 10 mins. Sundal Recipes are highly protein packed nutritious snacks and even you can serve to your kids after they come back from school instead of feeding them with junk foods. These sundals are served as prasad / prasadam during Navaratri after pooja. I have just given an idea but use other legumes like Bengal gram, moong dal, field beans, sweet corn, dried yellow and green beans, horse beans, cowpeas, soya beans etc.
