Cabbage Green Peas Poriyal | Cabbage Peas Stir Fry
Cabbage Green Peas Poriyal is a simple yet delicious poriyal. Mostly this Cabbage Peas Stir Fry is prepared in almost all hotels and households, as cabbage carrot poriyal, for a change I replaced carrot with green peas as I had frozen peas in hand. Ok let’s go to the recipe.

Cabbage Green Peas Poriyal

Serves – 3
- Cabbage – 2 Cup
- Big Onion – 1
- Green Chilli – 2 to 3
- Green Peas – 1 handful
- Grated Coconut – 2 tbsp
- Ginger – 1 Small Piece (Crushed)
- Salt – To taste
- Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
- Urad Dal – ½ tsp
- Jeera – ½ tsp
- Oil – ½ tsp
- Curry Leaves – 1 sprig
1. In a kadai, boil green peas, until it turns soft. Drain the water and keep it aside. Chop onion and cabbage finely, slit green chilli’s and crush ginger. Heat Oil in a kadai and temper the all the ingredients given in the table ‘To Temper’.
2. Add onion, chilli, ginger and saute till onions turn transparent, then add cabbage and saute well.
3. Now add green peas and salt. Sprinkle little water and cook in medium flame, until the raw smell of the veggie leaves. Add grated coconut and mix well.
Serve this simple Cabbage Green Peas Poriyal with any kuzhambu varieties and rice.

Cabbage Peas Stir Fry
1. Do not overcook cabbage or it turns mushy.
2. For variation, replace carrot to this Cabbage Green Peas Poriyal.
3. You can skip green peas and add soaked moong dal or channa dal to this Cabbage Peas stir fry.
