Bread Halwa Recipe / How to Make Bread Halwa with step by step pics and a short Youtube video. If you like my video, please share it and don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE to my channel. This halwa is traditionally made in Muslim weddings with white bread but it can be replaced with atta, multigrain, brown, sweet bread, or even bun too. It tastes so yummy, but don’t compromise in ghee quantity else the halwa turns sticky. Unlike, Asoka Halwa or Tirunelveli Halwa, this recipe doesn’t require much stirring and it can be done within 20 minutes. For an easy version, bread can be powdered, instead of slicing but the texture will be like a paste.

Notes

Tips for How to make Bread Halwa

1. Traditionally, white/ Milk / Maida bread is used. But, it can be replaced with Atta bread, sweet bread, Brown bread or Multigrain bread or even bun too.
2. I used atta bread for a healthy version, so the colour was a little bit dark.
3. If using sweet bread, reduce the sugar quantity. Also, adjust the sugar level as per sweetness required.
4. Use 2 to 3 days old bread, so it will be easy for slicing and the texture will look great. Fresh bread turns the halwa like a fine paste.
5. For a rich taste, 2 tbsp of condensed milk can be used.
6. Don't reduce the ghee quantity, else the halwa turns sticky.
7. This Bread Halwa Recipe stays good for 3 to 4 days under refrigeration. But warm it before serving.
8. If the halwa turns too dry, add little warm milk or ghee and mix well.
