Ingredients

1 Cup = 250 ML, 1 tsp = 5 ML

  • 120 Gram Oreo Biscuit (2 Packets)
  • ½ Cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder

Instructions

  • Set the biscuits, milk (at room temperature) and baking powder ready.
  • To a dry mixer, add the biscuits with cream.
  • Pulse it well, till it becomes a fine powder (if you want a crunchy cake, pulse it little coarsely). Ensure there are no biscuit lumps.
  • Then, add the milk and pulse again.
  • The biscuits becomes like a cake batter after adding the milk. Now, add the baking powder and give a very quick pulse.
  • Then, brush a baking tray with oil and dust little flour all over or line it with a butter paper. If preferred, arrange few biscuit pieces, before pouring the batter.
  • Transfer the batter to the baking tray, then level it with a ladle/spatula and shake the pan twice, so that the air bubbles releases. Again, arrange few biscuit pieces on top of the batter for a nice look, you can skip it too.
  • Take a heavy-bottomed pan and keep a stand inside (Watch my video link for more clarity). Let it preheat in a medium flame for 5 to 7 minutes. Place the cake tray inside the pan.
  • Keep closed and bake for 25 to 30 minutes in medium flame or a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean. (This cake can also be baked in a pre-heated oven for 20 to 25 minutes at 180c).
  • Open the lid and let it cool for a while.
  • Once cooled, invert the tray and gently tap to remove the cake.

Notes

Tips for 3 Ingredient Oreo Cake Recipe

1. You can use other cream biscuits like Bourbon, Britannia (any flavour).
2. If you want a slightly crunchy cake, powder the biscuits little coarsely.
3. Ensure the milk is at room temperature not chilled.
4. The batter should be in pouring consistency, so adjust milk accordingly. I used 1/2 cup milk, which was perfect for me.
5. Baking Powder can be replaced with 1 small sachet of Eno salt also.
6. Addition of biscuit pieces in the batter gives a nice crunch in the cake while eating.
7. Always cool the cake and then slice it, else it gets crumbled.
8. In Microwave: take a microwave-safe bowl and pour the batter on it. Microwave on high for 4-5 minutes or till a toothpick inserted in the centre of the cake, comes out clean.
9. In OTG: preheat for 10 minutes and bake for 20 to 25 minutes at 180c.
Common tips in Baking
  1. Ensure baking powder is within the expiry date, else the cake won't raise and does not turn spongy.
  2. Once you prepare the batter, bake it immediately, otherwise, the baking powder de-activate and the cake won't raise.
  3. Choose correct sized baking tray, else while baking itself the cake overflows. To avoid this fill the batter to 3/4th level of the cake tray.
  4. If the cake doesn’t get baked in the centre, cover the cake with an aluminium foil or butter paper and bake for another 5 minutes.
