Preparation Time : 25 Mins | Serves : 2 to 3

  • Big Onion – 1
  • Beans  – 1 cup
  • Green Chilli – 2
  • Moong Dal – 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder – ¼ tsp
  • Sambar Powder-11/2 tsp
  • Grated Coconut – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – To taste
To Temper
  • Mustard Seeds- 1 tsp
  • Urad dal – ½ tsp
  • Jeera – ½ tsp
  • Red Chilli -1
  • Hing – 1 pinch
  • Curry Leaves- 1 sprig
  • Oil – 3 tsp
1. Trim the edges of the beans. Wash  and chop the beans, onion and slit green chilli.soak moong dal in water for 30 minutes and drain water.Beans Poriyal Recipe Step12. Heat oil in a kadai and temper with the items given under the table ‘ To Temper’. Add Onion, green chilli and fry till transparent.
Beans Stir Fry Recipe Step23. Now add beans, turmeric powder, sambar powder and salt. Sprinkle little water and add soaked moong dal. Cook for 5-6 minutes in low flame. Finally add grated coconut and mix well.

Serve this Beans Stir Fry Recipe with steamed rice and sambar.

1. For variation, use red chilli only for spiciness, instead of green chillies.
2. You can omit moong dal and add grated coconut only for this Beans Poriyal Recipe.
3. Don’t overcook beans or else it will lose crunchiness.
